why do people with aspergers and autism say such outrageous things?

my counsellor George tells me that people with aspergers/autism say outrageous things like omg that room is ugly and i hate that person i wish they would die that people without AS/autism wouldnt say.

I say those sort of things all the time and was wondering why do they do that? Im 17 and have Aspergers

Because sometimes they don’t understand why its important to keep it to your self to avoid hurting other’s feelings. or they forget, or just cant controle it.

People with Asperger’s syndrome and autism tend to be very honest and hating lying (even “white lies”) and they tend to prefer honesty themselves. Some also lack a “filter” for the things they say, so they just say whatever they’re thinking.

Neurotypicals are different. They tend to prefer white lies over honesty and they consider it polite to use white lies and say something else than what they really think.

That’s why neurotypicals often find people with Asperger’s syndrome/autism rude for saying outrageous things and likewise people with Asperger’s syndrome and autism find neurotypicals rude for lying.

It’s just a clash of two groups of people who see things very differently.

I believe it is because persons with aspergers do not know the unwritten rules of the social world. As they are wired completley different from “typicals.” They just say what they think. I find it a kind of refreshing as you always here alot of people talk about being honest but can not take it when you are. Honesty should not be feared as a friend or an enemy.
