What are your opinions on the whole immunizations causing autism debate?

I personally think it’s a bunch of crap, but I was just curious how real people feel about it, not just celebrities.

Another example of actual science vs. uninformed ignorance. Have the creationists weighed in yet?

I agree with you. Total nonsense.

I think its crap too. I am pretty sure that if there was any validity to this claim, there would be a lot more research done and I doubt that doctors would continue to give our children immunizations if they weren’t sure that they were safe.

I have worked with many developmentally disabled individuals whos families have claimed that the child was not disabled before the immunization…
I have also heard that the immunization (I can’t remember which) with the high level of mercury caused it
I know a child that I worked with that was in the second grade and was autistic was tested and her Mercury levels were thru the roof…
I believe it could be a possibility worth research

not enough is known about the actually causes of autism, I think that vaccinations are simply a convenient scapegoat. But to be honest, I’d have to say I’d rather see a child of mine autistic than dead from a preventable disease.

I agree with you, a bunch of total crap. There is no evidence and no correlation. It’s all myth.

I, of course, use to think the same way. That man would not do this on purpose, that we would know and do something about it if it were true. But, then I did the looking into matters, and cried very long and hard at what I found. My children use to have autism, thus this is an example of how much research I did. Know that if you were to research vaccines, lets say about 200 hours worth of research, there is no way you would vaccinate. I understand the need to believe in mankind, but until you actually research, you are only making a determination on what seems logical or what you want to beleive. Thus, my recommendation, spend 200 hours researching, maybe even less, you will be down-right shocked at what you learn. You can do all your research right here on the internet, even using official scientific studies, many show the link.

My 5yo regressed after his 15 month immunizations and my other 2 kids are not immunized and not impaired in any way. My 5yo was speaking before he regressed.
However, I DON’T believe the immunizations themselves caused his autism and if you really listened to what many of us say, we don’t all think that. I think the immunizations triggered his regression.
I do also think that mainstream medicine keeps immunizing even though they don’t think immunizations are totally safe. Read the side effects lists … they include DEATH. But for the most part, the benefits outweigh the risks. Unless your kid is damaged by them. As mine was.

Those who have children do know what the immunization schedule looks like for an infant before turning one. Remind you this infant develops 80% of its brain by 3 years old and for upto 4 months or 6 months old she only drinks milk. Now the doctors office according the so call schedule would give every two months a total 8-10 different vaccinations to a baby how could barley digest its milk and along with teething, allergies from foods. I am asking the public is there enough time for this enfant to digest all these bacteria entering his system? I know when I did follow the doctor’s advice with my first child not knowing what auticm was to begin with, I paid the price but now I know! This is from a perfectly healthy mother who never did drugs, smoke, drunk, took medicine and even drunk coffee and works-out in regular basis, now you tell me what else is causing it? The only thing I forgot to mention was that I was working for a pharmaceutical company during my pregnancy maybe I should blame them for my child’s condition I am tring to find answers in order to help my child better and faster of course. My other children are getting vaccinated but not combined vaccinations at a slow rate and not accelarated schedule, I do not see the reason why I should follow the schedule. This is my thoughts on this, hopefully I did not bored you with my story.

Autism is a huge spectrum. I believe that immunizations do, in some way, for some reason trigger autism, but as for my own child I do not believe they caused her diagnosis because she was born with it before her shots ever began. Therefore, from my viewpoint the answer isn’t a simple yes or no … rather how do the pieces fit together?
