Just wondering if it is possible to notice symptoms of autism when your child is a few months old or when it can be diagnosed. What are the signs? I’ve seem a bit about it on the news recently and it has me interested. Thanks.

My 3 year old son may be diagnosed with a mild form of autism soon (we were warned today that that’s what the signs point to). There is also groundwater contamination in our neighborhood of chemicals known to rise through the ground and get trapped in the house. Does anyone know where I can find more information? Would someone please list for me or point me to a thorough list of characteristics that a 34 month old autistic person would exhibit, such as, lack of eye contact, desire to wear the same clothes, etc. I am going to suggest to the parents of this child that they take him to a doctor for evaluation.
