in a previous question i asked about special diets for kids with autism someone brought CranioSacral Therapy. What is this? I have never heard of it before. None of my sons doctors have ever mentioned this as an option before.
In short, could someone please tell me what autism is and why there are so many kids that are being diagnosed with this disorder? Is it just an answer doctors give because they don’t have any idea what is wrong…..
I just don’t get it and what the difference in stages are…I’m starting to believe its just a lie…kind of like every other diagnosis these days.
I have a good overview myself since I was diagnosed with an almost unnoticable case of Aspbegers Syndrome when I was 9 but I want to know the details, the fine print that I don’t see right in my own head. I can remember music to exact wavelenghts as found by doctors at Yale New Haven (CT) Hospital where I was evaluated and I have a great all around memory. But of course my social skills can use a lot of help but what else is going on up there in my head?
My son is 3 and a half & was recently diagnosed with mild autism. Developmentally is a year behind in his speech & comprehension development. He still has difficulty answering “yes & no” questions & obviously he talks like a child who is just learning to talk. His answers & comments seem as if they are robotic & that he is not really thinking about what he is saying. It is a few months before his next doctors appointment & I know he will start various types of therapy. My question is what can I do in the meantime to help him with his language & communication skills? I have flash cards, & am aware of the “obvious” things you typically do to teach children. But I feel that I need some fresh ideas, because he doesn’t learn like other children due to his autistic disorder.
I have a 9 weeks baby and I was wondering how to know if she has Autism. My husband’s brother has it. I was wondering if it’s genetic and what are the symptoms.
by the way,she doesn’t have a pediatrician because she is not sick (they gove those doctors only to sick babies). She doesn’t have a doctor.
I think my 3 1/2yr old daughter may have Autism. Since birth, she’s always been a little distorted when it comes to emotions and speaking. But with her being so young, what kind of tests could be done accurately to help her be diagnosed/or not with this??
These 2 doctors had stated in the past that vaccines had no relationship in the autism epidemic. Now they want their names off the CDC report. Very interesting… Please add any details you know about this new controversy.
Do I need to go to a University Hospital or a place like Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania to see a good Geneticist Specialist or do they have private practices like other doctors?
