Is there a really good center in the US that prepares adults with Autism or Asperger’s for jobs?

I would like to know about resources for adults (mostly ages 18-25, but any ages OK) who have Autism or Asperger’s, but are too low-functioning for regular colleges & vocational schools. I know of Goodwill Industries, but are there specific vocational centers to work with this population, with specific helpful techniques? What types of vocations do adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders succeed the best in, as adults? Any advice from people experienced in this area?

I met a girl who says she does not have Asperger’s, but instead is high-functioning autistic.

What role does emotion have in the life of someone with autism?

I just find the whole disorder of autism hard to understand because I’m a really emotional person. I’m especially interested in how people with mild autism or Asperger’s can function fine but then when it comes to feeling empathy they have such trouble. I guess my question is how such people experience emotion–are these people actually unable to care about others? My intention is not to sound ignorant, I’m genuinely curious.

Can a child have autism and still be social?

Autism

I have been reading up on autism and Asperger’s Syndrome a lot lately because we have some concerns about our four year old son. He fits the characteristics of Asperger’s Syndrome except for one thing, children with Asperger’s are typically known to be very anti-social. Our son is the most social child we have ever seen. In fact we get comments all the time on how out-going and social he is.

So my question is, can a child have an autism spectrum disorder and still be social?
