He has had many partial mis-diagnoses like ADHD and OCD, but now that he is properly diagnosed he refuses to accept it and is also refusing to take any medications to help him with it. This is very stressful for me to deal with and I would really appreciate some feasible solutions.
My 5 year old is ADHD and on the autism spectrum. The more I read, the more informed I become. I am starting to put pieces together and am ecstatic because I think there is hope. I am wondering if anyone has any input on the Rhogam shot with mercury given during pregnancy (I had that ) and the vaccinations with mercury given to my son. Any info. would be greatly appreciated.
I have a cousin who doesn’t seem to have any social skills. he is very naive for his age and always gets into the dumbest arguments with ppl. he doesn’t realize it, but he keeps making the same mistakes over and over again. i heard somewhere that autism has many different levels. could this be a sign of autism. or is it smthing else, like maybe ADHD?

Is there a kind of therapist that works with these type of people? Im not talking about a typical psychologist. (From what I’ve heard, all they do is basically prescribe drugs and do surgery). What I want to do is more like a sort of hands-on, involved approach. I know I must sound kind of vague, but what kind of doctor does that, and how do I become one?
When will people stop shrugging autism off as better diagnosis? Any intelligent person knows that autism is not something that just gets over looked. Today or 50yrs ago a child with autism would not go unnoticed. It is not the same as ADD or ADHD. So I wish those who are uneducated about autism would stop adding there two cense. This is a serious epidemic that is effecting our future generations.
At what point will autism become noticed as a medical illness and be covered by insurance companies?
Are ADHD children getting mis-diagnosed? Is there such a disorder called “autistic disorder” that mimics ADHD? Or is autism all the same at different levels of severity?
