NOPE! IF YOU ARE AFRAID THAT YOU MAY HAVE AN AUTISTIC CHILD GET YOUR CHILD’S DEVELOPMENT EVALUATED AT 12 MONTHS THEN AGAIN AT 24 MONTHS. IF YOU GET THEM EVALUATED TO SOON HE OR SHE WILL NOT BE PROPERLY DIAGNOSED. UNFORTUNATELY AS OF RIGHT NOW THERE ARE NO TEST DONE FOR AUTISM WHILE A MOTHER IS PREGNANT. HOPEFULLY ONE DAY THERE WILL BE.

no because autism is something they diagnose by symptoms, and it doesn’t even reveal itself until an infant is around 1 year of age. it has no direct genetic links.
relax though. i used to work with special needs children and autism is probably the easiest to deal with and the most likely to respond to therapy. if an autistic child is counseled and worked with by a specialist very early on (before age 2) many times they can function like a normal child. in my class we had a 2 year old boy max who would not say anything other than his name and even then he refered to himself in the third person and he had violent outbursts and meltdowns. with a year of therapy (by his 3rd birthday) he had a 20 word vocabulary and has started to show signs of socialization and empathy. now at age 5 he is like any other pre-schooler healthy and thriving

No there currently is not however there is current research consisting of genetic studies to develop a prenatal test for autism, which is expected to be available in about 6 yrs… Dr. Joseph Buxbaum, who heads the Autism Genome Project at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, said in an interview posted on MSNBC.com on Feb. 23, 2005, that there could be a prenatal test within 10 years.

I don’t think so.
Autism cannot be diagnosed before 2 years old.
