Okay I was watching “scrubs” and there was this kid who was playing w/ blocks. Then that mean charactered doctor said that he had signs of autism because the blocks he was playing with had perfect semmetry and matching colors. What was up with that? How does that sign detect autism, just curious.
Im writing a report so please be serious.
My son has always displayed the more known about signs. However I’m finding it difficult to find a website that will help me see if I am the right ball park. He is six. All the websites are for recognising signs at 2 or 3. Please help.
Some of his signs; Everything has to be divided into colours. He bangs his own head. He is hyper sometimes. He can’t learn to read or write but is great with numbers. He can’t hear me even when I’m right next to him. His hearing tests are perfect. He hates a change in routine. Will NOT have a bath before dinner.
His speech is understandable by me alone, but when he does talk, I think he makes a lot of sense. Everything has to have logic to it. He won’t be fobbed off with answers and will argue the toss for hours. Eye contact is pretty rare although it does happen.
My neighbours son has autism. The only difference between him and my boys is that he has a speech delay and are somewhat agressive. He is 4 and my boys is 6 and 4. I really want my boys to interact with him and play with him, but find it hard to explain to them why he sometimes hurt them. We reached a point were they do not want to play with him and I feel really sad about it. My neighbour is lovely but I can see in her eyes that although she understands it is painfull.
Does anyone has advise?
I also put this in Special Education but thought maybe some here might know. My little boy who is 3, has a school diagnosis of autism. And we go next week to a developmental pediatrician for a medical diagnosis. I am looking for any online support groups for parents. Any ideas?
My husband and I are still in shock but we need to everything possible to help him. How do I hire a full time ABA specialist? What do I look for? Do you know about a pay scale? Any information will be greatly appreciated. If you have not delt with autism in your life and you do not work with autistic children please do not reply. We are upset enough.

If you do, what proof do you have? I know there is no solid proof proving that MMR does NOT cause Autism, but is there solid proof that it DOES? I know there are kids that have not had vaccines that have developed it as well as kids that have been vaccinated. Just curious.
I have a beautiful and sometimes a little monster of a child. He got Autism and he is 5 years old. Now just a fornight ago he started to bite . he will bite his cousins. But the odd thing is he will do this bitting behind our back when no one is watching . He attack one child at his school . the teacher told me not to worry about it. He also go to daycare which he started to push the other children around but this time he burst into tears and scream like he been hurt .
How do I teach him that pushing and bitting is not on. See i try to smack him but it backfire due to he like it the pressure of the hit . It sound weird but he has come up to me and ask me to hit him in the face which I refuse do to it and he will hit me to get me to hit him..
I am puzzle on why is my child act like this ?
I smake him once and notice that he respond to it different to what a normal child would do . So I have change it that I remove his toys for doing the wrong thing and he doesn’t seem to care what is going around him.
He love his milk but I taken him off milk early this year .
He rarely eat that stuff due to his is a picky eater.
I want to buy a book on Austism with information like what is autism exactly, what to expect, what are the treatments available and parenting tips for parents. And also one that is uplifting.
My daughter has autism.She pees on the potty great but she says she is scared to poop on it. She knows when she has to go and i’m 100% sure of that. We’ve tried charts,prizes,promises of toys,”showing” her where poop goes when we change her and NOTHING works.She is very smart and this is one issue we need to get resolved. I will be forever grateful if someone here can help me. BTW she will not even sit on the potty and try to poop or anything even with a book.
No this is not a joke. I suggest you read up on autism. Its a serious thing not to be taken lightly. I came here to seriously ask for advice as i have seen similar questions on here about autism and potty training before. If anyone wants to insult me or my child then they have serious issues that they need to resolve.
