Have any school/community fundraising event/promotion ideas for Autism?
I’ve worked on fundraisers before, but would like to try something new (and not too complicated). Any ideas that have been proven successful are greatly appreciated!

In my area local gas stations sell things like bracelets, or even if you donate a dollar, you sign a shamrock for March of Dimes, or a hot air balloon for Children’s Miracle Network. I thought about creating something like a puzzle piece and taking all of the proceeds and donating them to autism research groups. Are there any rules and regulations to do this sort of thing, are there permits or something that I need to get.
I am doing a school project on the autism spectrum and decided that in addition to the research I want to raise money to donate to an organization that specializes in treatment and/or research. My idea is to do a movie screening out on the beach (hopefully) and maybe have other entertainment and food as well. Do you guys think this is a good idea? How successful do you think it will be? And if I tried to bring in a “celebrity” who is supportive about this, would that attract a lot more people? It’s still in the planning stages right now so any thoughts or advice would be really helpful.
The results of this review show that 3 of the 4 population-based studies28-29,32 to examine paternal age reported a significant association with risk of autism and ASDs. The fourth study31 also found that paternal age was older in fathers of case patients with autism compared with fathers of controls, although this relationship was statistically weaker in the adjusted analysis. Thus, advancing paternal age is consistently associated with increased risk of autism and ASDs.

We’re in San Jose, by Valley Fair, and we teach social skills to children and adults with autism spectrum disorder. We would also like to find employees who want to take advantage of Yahoo!’s donation-matching policy!
